Sea Temperature: Warm
Weather: Overcast / drizzle

Forecast changed overnight to show a pulse of SE wind late morning - cross-off at Newgale with 8 second swell. BBC was giving weather warning for rain, but Guru was showing only drizzle so decided to go and see.

In fact it was quite bright on arrival with the wind swinging round to SE, but still light. Rigged 5.7 and 95 Freewave to give best chance of getting out. Wind picked up by time I launched and tricky to control sail going out broad through waves. Planing on outside, easy to catch waves, but they tended to lose shape and then dump on sandbars. Think a 5.3 would have been more manageable. Got some good rides though.

Guru spot on - wind turned off around 2 pm as forecast. Loads of windsurfers out, quite warm and only light drizzle all good except trod on weaver fish - not too painful, but advice was to get treatment before it spread up leg - RNLI lifeguards kindly boiled a kettle and a bowl of hot water soon neutralised the pain - thanks RNLI!
